Heatmap overlays: the single most requested feature across every vertical
Six different personas, across all four verticals, independently asked for the same thing: a way to see risk and activity as a pattern across a whole site, not as a list of individual points.
When we scored every feature gap across the platform's seventeen personas, one request came out on top by a clear margin, needed by six different personas across all four verticals. Not a new detection model. Not a flashier viewer. A heatmap.
Why a list of points is not the same as a pattern
Annotations and reports are excellent at describing an individual finding precisely. What they are not built for is showing a pattern across dozens or hundreds of findings at once, where risk clusters, where activity concentrates, where the same problem keeps recurring in the same part of a building. That is a different way of looking at the same data, and none of our existing features answered it well.
One capability, four different questions
A safety heatmap showing where hazards or near misses cluster across a site, informing where a toolbox talk actually needs to happen.
A maintenance frequency overlay showing which assets or zones are consuming disproportionate reactive attention.
A risk scoring visualisation across a portfolio or a single property, supporting underwriting and accumulation decisions.
Security teams get the same pattern again, a threat and vulnerability map built from the same underlying data model, rather than a fifth bespoke feature. Building this once, properly, across all four uses is why it earned the highest priority score on the roadmap rather than being treated as a nice to have visual extra.
Worth saying plainly: a heatmap is a starting point for investigation, not a conclusion. A cluster of findings tells a team where to look first. It does not replace the work of understanding why the cluster exists.
