Fraud, faster to catch: temporal comparison and the evidence chain

Exaggerated and staged claims usually rely on a gap between what a property looked like before and what it looks like now being hard to check precisely. A twin closes that gap.

Property fraud, staged damage, exaggerated claims, timing a genuine defect to look like a new incident, generally depends on the same thing: nobody being able to check precisely what a property actually looked like at an earlier point, and how exactly it has changed since. A written survey and a handful of photos leave real room for that gap to be exploited.

What temporal comparison actually removes

Two captures of the same property, from different dates, placed against each other inside the twin, show exactly what changed, measured, not estimated from memory or a written description. A Fraud Investigator or Special Investigations Unit analyst working a suspicious claim gets a direct, dated comparison rather than having to reconstruct a timeline from separate, inconsistent pieces of evidence.

Why the evidence chain matters as much as the comparison

A comparison is only as strong as the trust in each underlying capture. Every capture on the platform is dated, tied to a specific operator and location, and held in a review and approval workflow before it becomes part of a formal record. That chain, not just the visual comparison itself, is what makes the evidence defensible if a claim ends up disputed or in front of a court.

What this does not do: it does not accuse anyone of anything. It gives an investigator better evidence to work from. The judgement about whether a claim is fraudulent remains exactly where it should, with a trained investigator, not with the software.

This builds directly on the measurement and temporal comparison feature covered earlier in this series. Read that post if you missed it, or see the wider claims and underwriting case on our Insurance vertical page.
