Measurement tools and temporal comparison: proving what changed

A before and after photo tells you something changed. Measuring two captures of the same space against each other tells you exactly how much, and where.

A lot of the most valuable questions in construction, insurance and facilities management are not "what does this look like" but "what changed, and by how much". Has the stockpile grown since last month's valuation. Has the crack in the wall widened since the last claim photo. Has a void space actually been filled to the specification on the drawing. None of those are answered well by a single photo, however good.

Measurement, on a twin that is accurate to scale

Because a splat twin is captured and processed to be dimensionally accurate, not just visually convincing, a Quantity Surveyor, Surveyor or Site Manager can take real measurements directly from it, distance, area, volume, without a second site visit purely to confirm a number.

Temporal comparison: the same space, two dates

Temporal comparison takes that further, placing two captures of the same space, from different dates, against each other so the difference between them is visible and measurable rather than something a person has to reconstruct from memory or paperwork. On a construction site, that shows genuine progress against programme. On an insurance file, it shows exactly what changed between a survey and a claim, which is often the single most contested question in a dispute. In an FM context, it shows degradation of an asset or a surface over time, evidence for a planned replacement decision rather than a guess.

Where the value concentrates: the gap analysis behind our roadmap found this needed by four personas across three verticals, a smaller footprint than reports or heatmaps, but the depth of value per use, particularly in claims disputes, is significant.
